Angie PatersonAngie Paterson - Vice-Chairman
Since moving to Watlington with her family 15 years ago Angie Paterson has been committed to the local community. She has taken an active part in many organisations and has served on various committees including the Pre-school, the Primary School, the Business Association, the Anglican Church, and Watlington Festival Committee. This has given her insight into the needs and concerns of different groups in the community. Angie is concerned to help sustain the vibrant community we have here and to do her best to effectively and efficiently balance the differing needs represented within the community; seeking the best that we can for everyone.  She joined the Parish Council in 2003 and was elected Chairman in October 2006. In 2005 she was elected to represent the area at South Oxfordshire District Council. Angie is Anglican Priest and works as a voluntary member of a team serving the Parishes of Watlington, Pyrton, Britwell Salome and Swyncombe. She also runs her own home based consultancy business.

Ian HillIan Hill - Chairman
Ian has lived in Watlington for twelve years and in South Oxfordshire for nearly 30 years.  After being on school PTA committees while his two daughters were still at school in the Henley area, he was tempted to join the Parish Council about 5 years ago after attending one of the Better Watlington meetings.  His principle reason for serving on the Council is a wish to help keep Watlington the special place that it is.   He works full time for a risk management consultancy in Abingdon, involved mainly in transport related safety.   As secretary of the Watlington Environment Group he is a regular member of work parties trying to restore the Chalk Pits to provide an area of chalk grassland with all the wildflowers that includes.

Barry AdbyBarry Adby
Barry has lived in Watlington all his life and has been married for 40 years to Jackie.  He has worked for Pressed Steel, Motts Aluminium, Watlington Care Home and as an HGV driver.  Whilst in full time employment he also worked for the Oxfordshire Fire Service from 1978.  He was also Officer in Charge at Watlington from 2003.  On retiring from the Fire Service he received an MBE in the New Years Honours List 2004 for services to the Fire Station.  Barry has been on the Parish Council previously but resigned due to heavy work commitments.  He is now semi-tired and would like to give more time to the interests of the local community.

Ted BackhouseTed Backhouse
Ted, a former Parish Councillor has returned to join the Parish Council (July 2009).    A father of four, Ted has lived in Watlington for 30 years and used to run The Paper Shop in the High Street.  Ted is a very keen gardener and has an allotment which he enjoys spending time on.  Ted was a member of the Watlington Players and is very keen on theatre and acting.  He is also a member of the Watlington Bowls Club, Twinning Committee and the Friends of Watlington Library.

Roger BeattieRoger Beattie
Roger has lived in Watlington and currently in Shirburn for the last 15 years.  He is now retired from the Civil Service and therefore has some free time which he dedicates to working for a better local community He has a special interest in youth and conservation in the local area. He is also very interested in the development on new play equipment in the Recreation Ground and hopes that we can get an excellent new play area in place for the next year.   He is Chairman of the Youth Club and has a very active role in this.  Roger is a bell-ringer at St Leonard’s Church.  He is also a member of NAG (Neighbourhood Action Group) and is a volunteer for the WRVS at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Neil BoddingtonNeil Boddington 
Neil is a Planning Consultant based in Watlington.  He has lived in Watlington for 22 years.  He states he will bring a professional and independent eye to one of the key roles in the Council in ensuring quality development of the right type in Watlington and preservation of the Conservation Area and Listed Buildings.  He is particularly keen to see improvements in Sports and their facilities in the town.
Nick GreavesNick Greaves
Nick has lived in Watlington since 1985 having moved from London to Remenham in 1979 before then. He is a chartered surveyor but knows no more than anybody else about selling houses since he works with commercial property and specialises in mainly in management of investment property and development, although he is now semi retired and works sporadically from home.  He and his wife Angela have three sons all now independent and working. Nick spends some of his spare time in the construction and later in flight demolition of model aircraft.
Keith LaneKeith Lane
Keith has served 10 years on the Parish Council with a special interest in traffic and transport issues.  Now retired he has 40 years experience in local authority construction many spent in Highways design work.  He is an active member of the Watlington Bowls Club and has a keen interest in classic cars and archaeology. 

Charles Rowton-LeeCharles Rowton Lee
Charles joined the Parish Council in 2002 . He has lived in Watlington with his family for over 10 years.  Charles is a Commercial Property Surveyor working internationally.  He joined the Parish Council to contribute to ensuring that the fabric of the town is maintained and improved and to contribute the living and business environment on which we rely.

David ShannonDavid Shannon
David has lived in Watlington for 10 years with his wife and children.  He joined the Parish Council in 2006. He is a Strategy Consultant currently based in London.   As a strong supporter of local services and transport links he joined the Parish Council to help maintain and improve the local environment and community.
Dave TindaleDavid Tindale
Married to Jenny David has lived in Watlington for 20 years. Their son went to both old and new primary schools in Watlington before attending Icknield Community College then Henley College. David works as an independent financial adviser and mortgage broker with a Marlow firm. As a volunteer he manages the operation of the local Age Concern minibus. He has particular interests in conserving the architectural heritage of the town, and  developed the Parish Council’s Traffic Policy. He enjoys the teamwork aspects of the Parish Council and believes that our efforts make Watlington a better place to live and work.
Di TolanDi Tolan
Di moved with her family into Watlington about three years ago having previously lived elsewhere in South Oxfordshire,   She and her husband have two daughters with one still living at home and the older one living not too far away in Witney.  Last year she retired from teaching at Henley College and is now a  mature student at Reading University.  Before changing to teaching she was a Town Planner for many years and hopes to use this experience through involvement in the Parish Council.
Tony WilliamsonTony Williamson
Tony Williamson is a retired Anglican Priest and Oxford graduate, having been a fork-lift driver and worker-priest at Pressed Steel, Cowley (now BMW Minis) for 30 years and Oxford Diocesan Director of Education for 12 years. He is married to Barbara, with 4 children and 7 grand-children. Liking to get things done with the support of those involved, he took part in the creation of the Paddock, Community Office, Old School Place, the Pavilion and the Affordable Housing in Britwell Road; the last two and the Youth Club came out of  "Suggestions for a Better Watlington" in 2002-3.   Tony was Parish Council Chair for 5 years before chairing the local NHS Primary Care Trust.  'Value for money' has been important throughout his 18 years as a member of the Parish Council. Earlier Tony had many years as a member of both Oxford City Council and the County Council. He is a Deputy Lieutenant for Oxfordshire and has been awarded am OBE for public and community services.
Rhian WoodRhian Wood
Rhian has lived within Watlington for the last eight years and joined the Parish Council in January 2006.  Rhian decided to put herself forward for election onto the parish council because she wanted to give something back to the community. Leading the current project to replace and expand the play equipment at the recreation ground is giving her an opportunity to do this.  Her skills as an architect are beneficial to the Council Planning Committee.As well as living in Watlington, she runs a small Watlington based business with her husband.  They have three small children, one of whom is at Watlington Primary School.
