Counselling Directory The purpose of the site is to ultimately provide the UK with a huge counselling support network, enabling those in distress to find a counsellor close to them and appropriate for their needs. This is a free, confidential service that will hopefully encourage those in distress to seek help. The website also contains a number of sections on emotional disorders (types of distress section) and provides some useful statistics. Every counsellor on the site who has submitted their profile has either sent a copy of their qualifications and insurance cover to us, or is registered with a professional body online with recognised codes of ethics and practice, this way we can be assured of their professionalism. http://www.counselling-directory.org.uk |

Watlington Primary School aims to unlock children’s potential in all aspects of learning and prepare children to become good citizens in the twenty-first century. Our school is set in a beautiful location with extensive play areas and we share the site with Icknield Community College. There is a bright, well equipped foundation stage area which was described as ‘outstandingt’ by Ofsted. There are nine other classrooms, two libraries and a multi purpose room for KS1 and KS2 children. The school was judged to be “outstanding” by Ofsted in 2008. In 2005 we achieved Healthy Schools status and achieved an Artsmark Gold award. In 2008 we collected the International Schools award. We are an ‘Investor in People’ school. Love Lane, Watlington. Icknield Community College Choosing a new school, particularly when so much seems to be changing in education, can seem a daunting decision. Situated at the foot of the Chilterns in Watlington, Oxfordshire, Icknield Community College welcomes educational changes as these enable us to improve standards while maintaining the personal attention we offer to every individual. As a smaller school, we pride ourselves on this.
During 2006 we enjoyed our first year as the county's first and only specialist Humanities school and significantly improved our site and ICT facilities. We are particularly pleased with the refurbishment of the main hall which now has professional lighting, projection facilities and retractable seating for 220 people. Most importantly, for the third year in a row Icknield Community College has achieved its best ever exam results at GCSE and Key Stage 3. At GCSE 63% of students achieved 5 A*-C grades, a 13% improvement on 2004. 97% of the year group achieved 5 A*-G grades. 15 students achieved at least 5+ A*/A grades. Every student was successful in GCSE English, Mathematics and Science. Results in Key Stage 3 English and Science were above county target grades, whilst in Maths we achieved the county target grade. We were particularly pleased that more students achieved Level 6+ than in previous years. There was a striking 16% improvement in English to 83%. This reflects our Specialist School status in the Humanities, as English is our lead subject. Please come and visit us and see the school at work. Fax: 01491 612951 |
